Autumn leaves
It’s starting to get frosty out here, but the fall leaves are still, well, fallen.
I love it when seasons are surprising. Technically, this leaf should have turned to mush a long time ago.
Yet the frost has preserved it perfectly, and in doing so has combined two seasons: autumn and winter.
I’ll be honest with you, they are my least favourite seasons. Although I love boots, scarves, pumpkin spice, Christmas, and all that good stuff, there’s something so inherently depressing about the darker times of year.
I love the light nights, green buds, and the sounds of the leaves in the trees.
But that doesn’t stop me from trying to find the beauty in the small things in the autumn, and photography is a great way to do that. It really does help you appreciate and focus on the tiniest thing, and how much detail is in the smallest leaf.
I love editing photos after I’ve been out with my camera, and catching up on the details of what I’ve missed in real life, and what was so small that only my camera could pick it up. I’ve been loving my macro lens a lot.
What’s your favourite season? Drop me a comment and let me know what it is and why 🙂
